Code of Conduct

We want the Presterity project to be a safe and productive environment for everyone. We ask all project members to abide by the following rules.

Treat everyone with respect

We ask that you welcome and respect everyone contributing to the project or making use of it.

Do not engage in harassment

We do not tolerate harassment of any kind, including:

  • Stalking
  • Deliberate intimidation
  • Disruption or sabotage of one's work
  • Offensive verbal comments
  • Unwelcome sexual or physical attention

In relation to, but not limited to:

  • Race
  • Color
  • National origin
  • Gender identity
  • Gender expression
  • Sexual orientation
  • Age
  • Body size
  • Disabilities
  • Appearance
  • Religion

Please bring any concerns to the immediate attention of the project coordinators. We take harassment seriously and will respond appropriately. Any person behaving in a disorderly manner or engaging in harassment may be removed from the project.

Respect the opinions of others

The project's subject matter includes controversial topics on which reasonable people may have different opinions. Bickering with each other over such topics can distract us from our mission, cause us to lose valuable allies, and erode public good will.

So that we can make progress toward our common goal, please respect the opinions of others. Presterity is predicated on concern and skepticism about the Trump administration, but beyond that do not assume that all project members share your point of view, and do not try to force your opinion on others.

Generally speaking, try to focus on facts. If you find yourself entering an argument with another project member about how something is represented, see if you can shift the discussion to facts upon which you can agree. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.
